Paul Rapsey performed his one actor show, One's Company, at the Community Hall in Granville Ferry, Nova Scotia last night and the audience loved it! One audience member wrote:
"Stellar performance. Beautifully written. Beautifully performed."
The show sold out in less than a week. Had there not been occupancy restrictions in place due to Covid-19, the sell out show could have accommodated many more people who had been unable to purchase tickets. The show raised over $400 for the Hall after expenses, which Rapsey kept to a bare minimum.
A movie version of the play will be released publicly in the near future. Rapsey says the film and stage plays are quite different, although both use the same script. "A live audience ignites an actor and both play off one another," says Rapsey. "It is both exhilarating and terrifying to stand on stage alone for over one hour." He was humbled by the response.
Rapsey is not sure what his next undertaking will be. He says he wants to relax, practice the fiddle and go for long walks with his husband of 40 years.
