"The Little Wooden House" Now Released on Amazon

The script of Paul Rapsey's new dramatic monologue, " The Little Wooden House ", was released today, April 28, 2024, by Amazon Books. Paul hopes that actors looking for a monologue will find this play of interest. The play can be performed by an actor of any gender identity, and by one who might be anywhere from approximately 50 to 80 years old. Paul will be teaming up with musician Alec Frith in performing the play live in his home village of Granville Ferry in late May. A movie version of the play is in the works.

Revised "Samuel" Film, 2024

The film Desperately Seeking Samuel , originally produced in 2022, has been revised. The stage play contained an epilogue that did not exist at the time of the film's production. The film was produced before the stage production because of Covid-19 restrictions at the time.  The revision in 2024 includes the Epilogue, acted by Gillian Ormerod of Smith Cove, Nova Scotia. There is a revised Prologue or introduction as well. This is presented by Paul Rapsey.  Also appearing in the revised film is Katie Yeoman of Granville Ferry, Nova Scotia. Paul was never satisfied with the original film's introdu ction. But budgetary constraints had forced him to make a compromise. The new Prologue is very much in the genre of a Shakespearean Prologue and works much better than the original. Paul hopes to present the film locally sometime this year.

Book Launch of New Novel By Rapsey

A book launch of local author Paul Rapsey’s third mystery novel, “ The Listing Lighthouse ”will be hosted by Bainton’s Mad Hatter Bookstore and Wine Bar in Annapolis Royal on Tuesday May 7, 2024 from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. Paul will read selections from the book at about 3:15 and again at about 4:15 p.m. Stay for a glass of wine. As with Paul’s first two novels, “ Murder on the Pony Express Way ” and “ Murder, Buy Cheeses ”, the story is set in a small Nova Scotia town and its environs, which are nestled along the shore of a tidal river. If you have read either of his first two novels, you may recognize a few of the characters. You will also meet some interesting new ones. This is a tale of love and deceit, friendship and folly; and political ambition and intrigue. Although the story addresses some serious issues, it is written in a whimsical manner. Yet, it contains all the essential elements of an engaging murder mystery.
